50 MW Power Plant, (Phase II), Ratija, Chhattisgarh

We are constructing one more 1 x 50 MW blended coal fired power project in the Korba district, Chhattisgarh, under the second phase of the Ratija Power Project through Spectrum Coal and Power Limited which is wholly owned subsidiary of ACB (India) Limited. The Ratija Power Project (Phase II) is planned to be commissioned by March 2017.

The project site is located in the Ratija village in the Korba district, Chhattisgarh, and is adjacent to our existing coal beneficiation operations in the Ratija village. The site is located 30 kilometers from Korba (nearest town). We are constructing Ratija Power Plant (Phase II) through EPC contractor ISGEC Heavy Engineering Limited. The overall management of the Ratija Power Project (Phase II) will be handled by our in-house team.

The total land requirement for the Ratija Power Project (Phases I and II) is approximately 169 acres. We have been allotted land measuring 169 acres from the Government of Chhattisgarh and we have obtained possession of the land. The primary fuel for the Project will be coal rejects, reprocessed coal rejects and/or blended coal. Secondary fuel in the form of light diesel oil will be required to start up the coal fired boilers, which we intend to source from local vendors. The secondary fuel will be transported to the Ratija Power Project by road.

We estimate that approximately two million cubic meters of water per annum will be required for the Ratija Power Project. We submitted an application to the State Investment Promotion Board for the allocation of two million cubic meters of water per annum from the Lilagarh River for the Ratija Power Project (Phase II). Power Grid Corporation, in accordance with the terms of the bulk power transmission agreement entered with Spectrum Coal and dated April 30, 2009, has granted open access to the Ratija Power Project for 100 MW which, on request of SCPL, is reduced to 60MW. The agreement has granted connectivity to Spectrum Coal though Power Grid Corporation's Sipat Pooling Station in the Western Grid.
