Operational Power Projects
15 MW Wind Power Facility, Sangli, Maharashtra
The wind power plant with a designed capacity of 15 MW is located in Sangli, Maharashtra, and is operated by Suzlon Windfarm Services Limited. The facility comprises 12 wind turbine generator units of 1.25 MW each. It was commissioned in 2005 at a cost of Rs. 740.30 million, financed through debt of Rs. 540 million and equity of Rs. 200.30 million. The plant is owned by ACB (India) Limited.
We entered into a Wind Energy Purchase Agreement with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited dated September 28, 2005 for the sale of 100% of the power that is generated by the Sangli Wind Power Project. The PPA is for a term of 13 years from the date of commencement of commercial operations of the power plant, with an option to renew the agreement by mutual agreement of the parties. We also entered into an operations and maintenance agreement with Suzlon whereby Suzlon has agreed to operate and maintain the wind turbine generator units and other equipment at the Sangli Wind Power Project including, among other things, the provision of routine maintenance, security, management and technical services.
