We, through our Associate Maruti Clean Coal and Power Limited, have commissioned Bandakhar Power Plant in July 2015. We hold 45% equity interest as at March 31, 2015.
The project site is located in the Bandakhar Village in the Korba district, Chhattisgarh, The site is located approximately 16 kilometres from Korba (nearest town). The installed capacity of Bandakhar Power Plant is 300 MW and our proportionate capacity in the Bandakhar Power Plant is 135 MW.
The primary fuel for the Bandakhar Power Plant will be raw coal. The raw coal will be transported by road from the mine to the project site, as the mine is at a distance of approximately 9 to 10 kilometres from the project site. A long-term fuel supply agreement has been entered into with SECL on August 28, 2013 pursuant to a LOA for 1.30 MTPA granted by the Ministry of Coal, India.
A long term power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years has been entered into on December 9, 2013, for sale of 5% of power generated with Chhattisgarh SPTC. A long term power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years has been entered into on November 1, 2013 for sale of 250 MW with the state distribution companies of Rajasthan through PTC India Limited. The remaining power generated is proposed to be sold on a merchant basis.
